Child Safety Standards
SocialGryd is committed to maintaining a safe platform and has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. This page outlines our standards and practices for preventing, detecting, and responding to CSAE content and behaviour on our platform. It should be read together with our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, Acceptable Use Policy, and Law Enforcement Guidelines.
1. Age Requirement
SocialGryd is intended for users aged 16 and over. Where local law sets a higher minimum age for independent digital consent (18 in Brazil and India, 17 in Indonesia), that higher age applies. We verify age at registration using the date of birth you supply. We do not knowingly allow anyone under the applicable minimum age to create an account. If we become aware that a user is under the applicable age, we will suspend the account and require age verification; accounts that cannot be verified are deleted together with associated content. We apply the UK Age-Appropriate Design Code (ICO Children's Code) principles for UK users.
2. Prohibited Content and Conduct
The following are strictly prohibited on SocialGryd:
- Any imagery, video, or other content depicting child sexual abuse or exploitation
- Any content that sexualises minors in any way
- Solicitation or grooming behaviour directed at minors
- Sharing, requesting, or distributing CSAM (child sexual abuse material)
- Any attempt to contact or engage with minors for the purpose of exploitation
- Content that promotes, glorifies, or normalises abuse of minors
3. Detection and Prevention
We take proactive steps to prevent CSAE on our platform, including:
- Age verification at account registration (date-of-birth check with server-side enforcement and minor-flag workflows)
- User reporting tools available throughout the app for flagging inappropriate content or behaviour
- Human review and moderation of reported content with priority escalation for CSAE reports
- Monitoring for patterns of behaviour that may indicate grooming or exploitation (for example, rapid unsolicited contact, location-bait prompts, and known-predator account signatures)
- Planned integration with hash-matching databases (such as NCMEC PhotoDNA, Project Arachnid Shield, StopNCII.org, or equivalent) so that known CSAM material is blocked at upload. When live, the detection is fully automated for the known-hash match itself, and any permanent account action follows human review, except where mandatory law requires immediate preservation and reporting. The automated-decision framework, Article 22(2) and 22(3) GDPR safeguards, and appeal route are described in our AI Notice and Terms ยง11d.
- Default privacy-protective settings for accounts identified as held by minors in permitted jurisdictions, in line with the UK Age-Appropriate Design Code and similar child-protection rules
- Staff training on CSAE indicators and escalation protocols
4. Reporting
If you encounter any content or behaviour on SocialGryd that you believe involves child exploitation or abuse:
- In-app: Use the report function available on all profiles, posts, messages, and content
- Email: Contact us immediately at report@socialgryd.com
All reports involving potential CSAE are treated as highest priority and reviewed promptly.
5. Response and Enforcement
When we identify or receive a report of potential CSAE content or behaviour, we will:
- Immediately remove the content and restrict the account
- Preserve evidence as required by law and for mandatory reporting obligations
- Report to the competent authorities in accordance with applicable law. As an Estonian-established provider, our primary mandatory reporting is to the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board and, via INHOPE, to the national hotline network. Where facts require or permit it, we additionally make voluntary reports to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline, to Europol EC3, and to any other competent national authority in the jurisdiction where the content, the victim, or the offender is located
- Permanently ban the offending account with no option for reinstatement
- Cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations and respond to valid preservation and disclosure orders (see Law Enforcement Guidelines)
- Record the incident and, where applicable, include aggregate figures in our Transparency Report
