Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to every person and entity that accesses SocialGryd — the website (socialgryd.com), the mobile apps, the Marketplace, the Partner Portal, creator tools, and APIs. It is incorporated into, and forms part of, the Terms and Conditions. In the event of any conflict between this AUP and the Terms, the Terms prevail; this AUP supplements the Terms with operational rules on what content and conduct is allowed on the Platform. Nothing in this AUP limits any mandatory consumer-protection right or any other right you have under applicable law.
1. Prohibited Content
You must not post, upload, share, link, host, or distribute content that:
- Depicts, solicits, grooms, sexualises, or exploits minors (see also our Child Safety Standards); this is a zero-tolerance category and may be reported to law enforcement and NCMEC
- Contains non-consensual intimate imagery, deepfakes, or synthetic sexual content of any real person
- Is defamatory, false, or misleading in a way that causes or is likely to cause material harm
- Incites or threatens violence, including terrorist content and credible threats against individuals or groups
- Promotes, glorifies, or organises violent extremism, terrorism, genocide, or mass-violence events
- Constitutes hate speech targeting people on the basis of protected characteristics (race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, serious disease, age)
- Incites or celebrates self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders (educational or recovery content is permitted, with care and without promoting harm)
- Harasses, bullies, stalks, doxxes, or targets a specific individual to intimidate them
- Contains or distributes malware, phishing links, credential-stealing pages, botnet command-and-control, or similar abuse
- Is spam, unsolicited bulk messaging, or commercial messaging that violates anti-spam law (CAN-SPAM, PECR, CASL, Australian Spam Act, or equivalents)
- Infringes intellectual-property rights (copyright, trade marks, patents, trade secrets, publicity rights)
- Violates privacy rights, including unauthorised publication of private information or private communications of others
- Is sexually explicit, pornographic, or primarily sexual in nature
- Promotes or sells regulated or illegal goods and services where the platform is not authorised (firearms, ammunition, explosives, illegal drugs, prescription medicines without a licence, wildlife products, counterfeit goods, human trafficking)
- Is made up of AI-generated impersonation, voice cloning, or manipulated media presented as authentic where material deception is likely
- Breaches applicable advertising, consumer protection, or financial-services law
2. Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- Impersonate another person or entity or misrepresent your identity, verification status, or affiliation
- Create accounts to evade suspension, ban, rate limit, trial, or free-tier restriction
- Use the Platform in a way that violates export controls or sanctions law
- Use automated systems (bots, scripts, crawlers, scrapers) to access, collect, or interact with Platform data except under a separate written agreement with us, and except that (a) well-behaved search-engine crawlers are permitted on public pages, and (b) operating-system and accessibility assistive technologies are permitted
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of any SocialGryd client other than as permitted by mandatory law
- Interfere with, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform, our infrastructure, or other users' accounts
- Test for or probe vulnerabilities without following our coordinated-disclosure process at security@socialgryd.com
- Fake engagement, purchase followers or likes, run click-farms, operate sockpuppet networks, or otherwise manipulate Platform metrics
- Misuse reporting, DMCA, or appeals processes (for example, repeated bad-faith reports against another user)
- Bypass, circumvent, or disable safety features, age-gates, content labels, sensitive-content interstitials, or parental controls
- Use the Platform to conduct surveillance of another user without their informed consent, or to stalk, harass, or intimidate another user
- Attempt to identify pseudonymous users, compile profiles of users for resale, or scrape the Platform to build competing data products
- Use the Platform to solicit sexual services, or to arrange meetings with minors outside the app
- Use the Platform to recruit for or promote multi-level-marketing pyramid schemes or affiliate schemes that are materially deceptive
3. Messaging and Direct Communication
Direct messages and group chats are subject to the same rules as public content. In addition:
- Do not send unsolicited commercial messages, bulk DMs, or scripted outreach at scale
- Respect blocks and mute lists. Creating new accounts to contact a user who has blocked you is grounds for permanent ban.
- Do not demand or coerce intimate imagery, financial transfers, or personal data from other users
- Do not forward private messages outside the conversation in a way that identifies the original sender, except with consent or where required to report abuse
4. Events and Meet-ups
- Only list events you are authorised to organise
- State the capacity, fee, venue, and cancellation terms accurately
- Do not use events to collect personal data for purposes outside the event
- Comply with local venue, alcohol, noise, safeguarding, and public-gathering regulations
- For ticketed or paid events, disclose refund policy and clearly label yourself as the organiser
5. Partners (Coworking Spaces, Cafes, Coliving, Venues)
- Honour the day-pass and discount commitments set out in your partner agreement
- Do not refuse service to members who have validly redeemed a perk
- Maintain accurate operating hours and venue information
- Do not retaliate against members who leave honest reviews; disputes should go through the review reply tool or support
- Handle member personal data under our Partner Data Processing Agreement
6. Brands (Marketplace)
- Comply with the Marketplace Terms and the Brand Data Processing Agreement
- Do not pressure creators to post false or misleading content or omit paid-partnership disclosures required by law
- Do not use Marketplace access to scrape, bulk-export, or enrich Creator data
- Pay agreed fees on time
7. Creators (Creator Hub)
- Make clear paid-partnership disclosures on every piece of sponsored content, using the most prominent disclosure the platform offers
- Comply with platform-specific policies (YouTube community guidelines, TikTok branded content, Instagram branded-content tools, etc.)
- Do not inflate or fake metrics; do not buy followers, likes, views, or engagement
- Respect the rights of people depicted in your content, including minors' privacy
8. API and Developer Use
Access to our APIs requires a written agreement. Without an agreement, automated or programmatic access is prohibited except as allowed by Section 2 for search and accessibility. Developers with an agreement must additionally comply with rate limits, caching rules, attribution requirements, and our security guidance.
9. Terrorist Content and One-Hour Removal (EU TCO Regulation)
In compliance with Regulation (EU) 2021/784 addressing the dissemination of terrorist content online ("TCO Regulation"), SocialGryd operates the following removal protocol:
- Removal orders. On receipt of a valid removal order issued by a competent authority of an EU Member State, we remove the identified content or disable access to it in all Member States within one hour of receipt, unless one of the limited exceptions in Article 3(7)–(9) applies.
- Point of contact. Our Article 15 TCO point of contact is legal@socialgryd.com. Orders should use the template of the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/1236 and be transmitted in a manner that allows authentication.
- Cross-border orders. For cross-border removal orders, we follow the scrutiny procedure under Article 4 TCO Regulation and may apply to the receiving Member State's competent authority where required.
- Notice to the content provider. Where we disable content on the basis of a removal order, we notify the user whose content was removed without undue delay and provide a Statement of Reasons with the appeal route (DSA Article 17 and Section 10 below), unless the competent authority has required non-disclosure for public security reasons.
- Preservation. We preserve the removed content and related data for at least six months, or longer if requested by the issuing authority, for administrative or judicial review and for investigation purposes (Article 6 TCO Regulation).
- Specific measures. Where designated as exposed to terrorist content under Article 5 of the TCO Regulation, we will implement specific measures commensurate with the level of exposure and publish a transparency report covering specific-measure obligations.
- Voluntary action. Outside formal removal orders, we may proactively remove content that clearly violates our Community Guidelines against terrorism, violent extremism, or incitement, and may use hash-matching databases (such as the GIFCT hash-sharing database) once integrated.
10. Reporting Violations
If you see something that violates this AUP, report it:
- In-app: use the report button on profiles, posts, stories, messages, events, partner listings, or creator content
- CSAE: report@socialgryd.com (highest priority)
- Copyright (DMCA): legal@socialgryd.com
- Security vulnerabilities: security@socialgryd.com
- General: support@socialgryd.com
11. Enforcement
We may take any of the following actions, proportionate to the violation: warning, content removal, shadow-ban / de-ranking, temporary suspension, permanent ban, refund or revocation of benefits, and legal action. Serious violations may be reported to law enforcement and (for CSAE) to NCMEC.
We issue a Statement of Reasons for most enforcement actions, in accordance with DSA Article 17 and our Terms Section 18, and we provide an internal appeal route. Users remain eligible to lodge complaints with out-of-court dispute settlement bodies certified under DSA Article 21.
12. Changes
We may update this AUP to keep up with new threats or product features. Material changes follow the change process in Terms Section 27.
